Walks In Tameside

Great Walks In Tameside!

40 Great Scenic Countryside Walks In And Around The Borough Of Tameside

I have been walking the varied footpaths and trails of Tameside for many years.

The majority of people do not realise the great variety of countryside walks available to them in and around the borough of Tameside.

These walking guide books are dedicated to giving you the opportunity to explore and learn more about your own area, as well as trekking further afield.

The main reason I decided to write these walking guide books was the lack of up to date information available to people in this area.

THE WALKS

    • All the walks in volumes 1 and 2 of ‘Walks In Tameside’ are circular, so you will arrive back at your starting point. Some walks may take in more than one town or even stray into a different borough. Inevitably some tracks are repeated on more than one walk.
    • Walks in the ‘Way’ and ‘Trail’ guides are linear and come with suggestions for dividing them into easily managed sections.
    • All times are approximate as you may walk faster or slower than the times indicated. No allowance has been made for snack or photographic stops.
    • The text for walks is deliberately quite detailed as most walking guide books are at best difficult to follow and in some cases unintelligible, especially to someone new to route finding.
    • Anyone who is reasonably fit can enjoy all the walks listed. Walks are graded either easy, easy to moderate, moderate, moderate to hard, or hard. The gradings take into account the distance as well as the terrain. Experienced walkers will have no difficulty with any of the walks but the inexperienced or occasional walker may wish to start with the easy walks.
    • The majority of the walks will take around 1-2 hours to complete but for those who enjoy longer walks two in the same location can be combined to give a greater distance.

Walking is a great way to stay fit – and it’s free.

Please note – All walking guide books are digital downloadable eBooks NOT physical hardback books.
The download links will be emailed to you immediately after your PayPal payment has completed.

P.S. Remember, there are many miles of walking footpaths and trails in these multi page guidebooks – that’s many chances to improve your fitness and enjoy a healthier lifestyle.

P.P.S. Even if you are a newcomer to map reading, the detailed text for the walks is simple enough for anyone to follow.
